Pictures

Concept

Our picture concept is delightful, bright, open-minded, positive and highlights the community. It encompasses learning and school environments and portrays life at SIS schools. The pictures are activity-oriented and dynamic.

In our regular publications we aim at a balanced mix of pictures of different school levels. In texts specific to a certain school level, the use of pictures of the respective school level has priority.

Detail pictures (coloured pencils, blackboard, book pile, etc.) should be chosen carefully and used only for the sake of variety.

Stock

We have a stock of pictures at our disposal that were shot and edited by professionals. This stock is adapted and expanded periodically. The corporate communications managers of the SIS countries and the SIS Group give each other unsolicited permission to their respective stock.

For the news posts on our website and for the illustration of location specific reports in SIS publications, pictures are provided by the teaching staff on site.

Portrait Pictures

Portrait pictures of the school management are used primarily for the location websites and for the publication SIS World. The following guidelines apply:

  • The responsibility of the picture is with the respective country.
  • The picture should have a uniform and preferably bright background.
  • The picture must be of high-resolution printing quality.
  • The picture is to be updated after two years.

Rights

The publication of pictures and/or videos of students at SIS schools is subject to the respective legal regulations of the specific country. Pictures of students are therefore only to be used after consultation with the school management and only for designated media, e.g. for the school internal newsletter, the website or our SIS publications.

The use of photos from databases or the internet is generally to be avoided. However, if there is a need to use an image from an external provider, it is mandatory to check allowance and to name the source.

Pictures in Social Media

Social media thrives on visual content, be it in photo or video form. When uploading photos to the SIS company profiles, we remain the copyright owner of the photos and the platform is not allowed to forward the photo material to third-party providers.

We want to protect the identity of our students and therefore avoid pictures with recognisable faces. In exceptional cases, such as the coverage of the SIS Cup and with the consent of the parent or guardian, photos and video material with recognisable faces of students may be used in social media. The full name in connection with a portrait should not be used to secure the identity of our students.
